Free Spirit have developed in recent years on the York and north east England scene. Front man Garry is so familiar that for years he was the picture that "York Music" listing used. Gavin needs no introduction - see my Blueflies gallery and Waggo occasionally plays with BF as well. Both the Johns are equally familiar local musicians. Free Spirit recreates the British RnB bands of the 60s and 70s, with the heaviest influence being 'Free', which is fine by me as they were easily the best band I saw in my student days.
